Help!

So...my boyfriend of almost 4 years took a job in Chicago (after he asked me what I thought about that, would I move there (yes!), etc.) The plan was: he moves, we get engaged, and I look for jobs in Chicago. Good plan, right?!

Wrong. He moves there and decides he isn't ready to propose because of our religious differences..he's Catholic & I'm Jewish. We have known about this since day one and have spent a lot of time getting to a place where we both agree on how a wedding would go, how we would celebrate holidays, how we would raise our kids. And now...he's acting like he can't handle those differences!

We spent about a month (mid Feb - mid March) taking a "break." When we finally saw each other again, we had an amazing weekend together and at the end of the weekend, he told me he still has some reservations, and wants to "ease back into things." He says I'm the love of his life, that he doesn't want to lose me, but that he needs to "think about things and needs more time."

So I finally told him I can't do that anymore and that if he finally makes a decision, I may or may not be available...until I called him drunk last weekend. Ugh! So we're been talking on and off (phone and IM). And I feel worse than I did when we weren't talking...above all else, I miss my best friend :(

I truely don't believe religion is the obstacle...is he just not ready? or is he just not that into me?

Hi zoe2180 and welcome to the board,

It's hard to say what's really going on in his head, but sometimes being apart makes people think.
