Thanks guys, I must admit that when I read each response I cried and cried, all weekend. But not because I was hurt by it but because it validated everything that I have been feeling.

I know that this new relationship is not going to last but that's not her fault and I don't blame her or wish her to go through the stuff that I have. She's a pawn in all of this. He's going to screw this up and the next and the next until he can face facts and accept how life is. But this is no longer my problem, he made his choice. With every line of coke, with every excessive bet he made his choice and it wasn't me. I am learning to accept that, and that there just isn't the room in a persons heart to be an addict and a partner. You can't focus all your attention and energy on something that isn't your partner
