I just don't understand...

when he broke up with me almost 3 weeks ago, he said he was still in love with me but just couldn't be with me right now...but he also didn't say if or when we would ever get back together. He called me every other day after he broke up with me until I told him I couldn't be friends with him, since then I have called him only twice (once to say happy birthday) and both times we talked he seemed like I was the last person on the planet he wanted to hear from and almost like he was mad that I even called...he was the one who wanted to be friends and he was the one who wanted to break up and was mad when I told him I couldn't be friends with him so why now is he so closed off??
I have already made the decision that I'm definitely not calling him again I just understand his change in attitude all of a sudden...

Well, perhaps he was confused by you saying you couldn't be friends, and then calling him? He may have felt you were sending a mixed message or playing games with him (I'm not saying that's what you were doing, but just how he may have seen it).

That's possible, I guess I was just hoping that if I made an effort to talk to him he would be happy about it not angry.

Maybe he's just hit the 'anger' stage of the break-up process.

That makes me angry...he choose to end it so why should he be mad?
I'm having an angry day today...sorry...I wish I could call him and tell him everything I was feeling and how angry I am...I don't think he has a clue as to how much he hurt me.

Sorry I missed that he broke up with you. Maybe he was trying to 'be nice' by suggesting you remain friends and really doesn't want to be.

Vent your anger on paper - UNSENT letters really do make you feel better, then burn them.
