Or, alternatively, there's no good explanation for it. Dealing with one of my good friends who just recently dumped her ex, sometimes you wake up one morning and it seems like you just don't want to try anymore. It's an awful truth and it sucks, but it happens.

The books are on the right track when they tell you to focus on the negatives to help you get over it. But they're only guidelines, not a completely list of everything that could go wrong. And it's not to say that your ex was an awful person or anything - it's just to acknowledge that there were things that you weren't happy about with him - be it that he didn't try after all that time invested or even spent the months before the break up lying about what he didn't feel. Or how he broke up with you period.

And my advice is to focus on your finals, or try. I guarantee that you'll look back on it, like one of my friends did, and curse yourself for letting a boy (or a girl in his case) wreck your academic record.

all the best
