my boyfriend and i broke up about a month ago after about a three year relationship. i'm young, 21, but i can't get rid of this feeling that i'm never going to find anyone else. it's to the point where it's making me depressed and not even want to go out. i've never worried about this before but as soon as the breakup happened that's all that seems to be on my mind. i don't want to go back to my ex because it was a bad relationship for my self esteem but i'm scared that if i keep thinking that i'm never going to find anyone i will go back to him, or guys like him. my thoughts seem to be bringing me down horribly. do you think it might stop once i get over my breakup or is there any advice on how i can stop thinking this way? thanks for any advice.

What you feel is normal. My advice would be to make yourself, your #1 project. Since you know you have self-esteem issues, consider a few of these (or read online reviews at amazon until you find one that feels right for you) I highly recommend the first one on the list because many, many years ago it really helped me:
Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy – David D. Burns, MD
Learning to Love Yourself: Finding Your Self-Worth, by Sharon Wegscheider Cruse
The Aladdin Factor, Jack Canfield & Mark Victor Hansen
The Magic of Thinking Big, David J. Schwartz

My best to you on your path of self-discovery. And trust me, you will find someone when the time is right.
