Suggestions for Letting Go Songs?

I was in a bar last night, drinking and trying to not get depressed about my recent break up...(I've been in extremely bad condition, I don't even know why we broke up and he won't pick up my calls to explain, imagine the confusion in my head)....anyways... Destiny's Child "Survivor" came on the jukebox. I thought, what an absolutely amazingly great song...ever word they say is perfect, and anyone hurting should listen to this song...it just really takes a little edge off your broken heart. I noticed myself throughout the day humming or singing it to myself when I start to get upset or depressed. It helps to a point. So I was thinking and wondering if anyone knows other songs similar to this, that are great and inspirational for moving on. Not songs that say i miss you or want you back, because thats depressing, but ones that say I don't need you and I'll be stronger now...you know? And I figure this list of songs could help everyone on this board. Songs can either make you or break you depending on what you choose to listen to...and I want to make a CD of moving on songs for when I start thinking about it too much. Thanks for your help!

My two cents is to avoid a bar. Alcohol is a depressant and a poor way to cope, my friend. I am not trying to be lectorial but truly I have been there once and it did not help. What an appropriate song tho, eh? I am avoiding music. I am watching CNN and Rita. It helps me stay focused on life and death matters and to deal with my temporary pain better.
Peace..
I don't know why, but I really liked Madonna's Immaculate Collection after my breakup. Madonna just seems like girl power to me. I also liked Liz Phair's songs Why Can't I and Extraordinary; they made me think of how much I still have to look forward to. And lastly, I liked to listen to dance music in general because the fast tempo and everything just put me in a good mood and made me feel like dancing!
I think making a CD is a great idea though, let us know what you decide to put on it!

"Since You've Been Gone" & "Behind These Hazel Eyes" by Kelly Clarkson are two of my favorites :)
Also..."So Long" by Guster, "Rapid Hope Loss" by Dashboard Confessional, and "You'll Think of Me" by Keith Urban are all good ones.
You Outta Know by Alanis Morrisette is a great song to make you feel empowered! :)
My favorite is Christina Aguilerra: Fighter
Good Luck!!!!
I wanted to make a playlist for myself as well.
This weekend I looked over stacks and stacks of my cds and came across:
Searching My Soul - Vonda Shepard (the Ally McBeal theme song)
And for some strange reason, I seem to also like the 70s song, Making It - David Naughton. I guess it's whatever song(s) that make you happy and feel inspired.
There were other songs that I found, but they've already been mentioned.
