Why is it always the woman's fault?

This is more an observation and something that lately has been really making me mad. I've been reading a lot online (and self help books too) about breaking up and how to deal and all that. I keep coming across a lot of websites that have now caused me a whole different anxiety and frustration in me. They make it all the woman's fault as to why the break up happened or why he walked out. Ok, I didn't recently take a stupid pill but when I'm looking for some sound advice and information, coming across sites that tell me I screwed up by actually responding to (in my case) his email and telling him how I felt--even when it wasn't a psycho response--when I should have ignored it are making me a new kind of crazy! These "sources" always make the woman at fault as to why her man left due to how she handled phone calls, emails or communication in general. In essence, it seems like women are just supposed to sit around and accept men's bonehead behavior because if they should actually state their own feelings or needs, he'll be too put off to communicate and work the issues out. I worry about those who actually come across these books and websites and believe it all as gospel!

Totally agree. I am tired of being told all the things I did wrong. How about all the things I did right? I do the right thing in a relationship and the guy still treats me like dirt. Why do we put up with this, just so we don't have to be alone! It's crazy, why do we have to play games, keep out real feelings hidden, and make all this effort when as soon as you show that you are a human being with faults he runs off like a baby. It's too much effort for so little. Society is always telling women what they need to do to get a guy to stick around, at the same time they are sowing men how to be a player. A girl gets engaged and everyone is happy for her, a guy gets engaged and his friends are all "ball and chain" and the fun is over.
