I know that feeling well...never measuring up...mine was coupled with being blamed for everything that went wrong in his life, though.

I think you underestimate yourself. You're not going two steps back every time. In fact, for a self-described 'fairytale relationship', you're moving along quite well.

And you WILL move on. You understand that at least 50% of your fantastic relationship experience was a result of yourself. The fact that you were able to build such a relationship with one man means that it's highly likely that you'll be able to build it again with another (hopefully better) partner.

I understand what your going through. I found myself in the same situation as you, trying to have a relationship with a commitment phob.
