Autobiography In Five Chapters

1) I walk down the street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I fall in.

I am lost... I am hopeless.

It isn't my fault.

It takes forever to find a way out.

2) I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I pretend I don't see it.

I fall in again.

I can't believe I'm in the same place.

But it isn't my fault.

It still takes a long time to get out.

3) I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I see it is there.

I still fall in... it's a habit.

My eyes are open.

I know where I am.

It is my fault.

I get out immediately.

4) I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I walk around it.

5) I walk down another street.

I absolutely love this...I first read in a book I was reading about the child within.  There's a saying in AA..."I didn't know I didn't know"...which essentially means that one isn't even aware they have a problem so the concept of doing anything about it is not even people fall into the hole, and really, it's not their fault. After being made aware and then exposed to the ways and means to do something about it, any falling into the hole is now their fault, but armed with their new-found knowledge, the whole can be avoided.

And while I am here, and how I could have overlooked, I don't know,  I am suggesting you change your name.  And you are new here, so that you are not aware that I am the self-professed Chairwoman of the Change Your Name Committee...and all others on the Board are Board Members and so can pipe in regarding the need for a name change at any time.

You'll want to pick something positive and life-affirming.

Everytime you see, that,  you reinforce that you are hurting, and yes, you may be hurting...but you don't want to continually reinforce that and become locked in to that concept.  And how are WE suppose to address you anyway?  Hurting?  No.

So, sweety, you've been targeted :smileyhappy:

Let me tell you one of my favorite stories about how the mind works.  We had a poster who arrived as 2hardtodo.  And she was struggling and finding it too hard to do for quite some time.  So, we...okay, on her about.  And she changed her name to Candoit2.  OMG, the transformation was remarkable!  Within just a day or two, she was finding that she could do it...and she did it.

Our mind is the most powerful tool we have at our disposal.  It responds in accordance with what we see, feel, think.  I hope you have taken the opportunity to check out the Affirmations thread in our Healing Library.  They really work.

And when you do come aboard with your new name..and perhaps it may take you a while to come up with a new one and so I don't want you not posting in because you haven't come up with one yet...just let us know "was....." so we know it's you.

I'll be keeping my eye on you...because I like checking off 'done' on my Change your Name form :smileyhappy:
