whoa. 9 years. What a huge wake up call to all who think they can stay on the fence; time flies by and we wake up one day wondering where our lives went!
Pondering and thankful for your post.

Wow, SMC! I am so proud of you for sticking with it this time. Another month and you will be a Tweener. I know you have lots of advice you could offer others here, so I hope you will stick around and offer a helping hand. Just this post alone speaks volumes.

Holding ourselves accountable is a HUGE step in the healing process so kudos to you for admitting your weaknesses. I think the need for attention and/or becoming bored in a long term M causes many women to stray. Heck, my affair was even getting boring. ;-) And as you said so well, "it didn't change/grow, it was never nourished so it just withered and died," was definitely the case for me. I just wished I had kept it over with the first time it ended after 10 months. But like you, it was all about ME ME ME. I didn't want to have to face my boring life again, so I talked him back into it. I feel more ashamed for having done that than anything else.

Thank you for coming out of lurkdom, and I hope we hear more from you.

((Hugs))
