Hi Wishing4Peace :)

I've heard that addicts can never attain that initial high....they just don't realize it so keep shooting for it.

Wishes I think you are most likely grieving deeply for your mother and that is why addictions suddenly feel good to you.

Often times addictions are fueled by losses and depressions caused by many things in life that are so difficult to bear.

Thanks Wishes for sharing these questions. Like you I never dealt with any addiction in my life prior to my A experience. Was it/is it an addiction? My mother was a food addict (in recovery over 30 years now) and works the 12 steps. I admire the honesty of people working addiction programs (maybe that's how I
