Blast from the past!

This is sort of off topic but, who cares? I'm posting it because I wanted to share! My DD and I dug out my yearbooks from Jr. High and High School! It's been a very long time since I looked thru them! I'm 43 yrs. old now! Did me a world of good! Many of my friends and even some of my teachers wrote notes to my H ! For those of you that don't already know it he and I have been together for 27 years.

The best part for me was that many of my friends wrote things to me that show me I'm still the same person with the same feelings! I haven't become bitter, angry, or resentful! I'm very proud of that! I had a fear of following in my Mom's footsteps!

One friend wrote "You have given me your friendship when I was down and had none. Friendship given in truth means more to me then anything"

Another wrote " Try to stay out of trouble! Good LUCK!!!"

One of my teachers who was a Priest (Catholic H.S.) Simply asked me a question. "Why do you always know who's hurting and seek them out to help them?" "Do you need an exorcism?" "Seriously L. you've been given a gift from God. cherish it!" This was my biology teacher and track coach. We used to always laugh because he was Italian with a very thick accent! In biology he used to be very stern! He always told us to f_ckus the microscope!!!

I had forgotten most of these autographs I rec'd in 1977! It was fun to read them! My point is for each of you to find the good stuff! Cherish it! We only get one chance at it!

Lifes too short! Love and Peace to all of you!

Nice post, SB. As you can see I just posted one myself. I'm going to sleep in a few minutes. I've got to be up in seven hours. Tomorrow I'm going on a fun outing! A new friend and I are going apartment hunting for her. She's a really wonderful person who I very well may not have met if I were still with MM.

So already there have been blessings since I left him. By the way, have I mentioned I'm feeling better? I laugh and smile at least once or twice a day now. Today I laughed SEVERAL times. I've even managed to convince myself that being single isn't a curse, it's a blessing!

I like going through stuff from the past as well. It's good to see how far we've come, how much we've changed, how little we've changed. The past always has interesting lessons. We don't look back often enough I think. In our hurry to get to tomorrow we forget to reach back to yesterday.

Oh Iamdelightful ~ I am so glad to read your post! And I am so very happy for you. Yes!!!!!!! Being single is a blessing!!! How you can truly get to know yourself because you don't have to be worried about anyone else! It reminds me of all the shows where married women talk of never having time to themselves and feeling like they have lost their own identity! You are discovering yours! Isn't it wonderful to live in peace? There are lonely times sure, but when you discover what you enjoy doing and you open up to new friends and places, you find there is a whole world out there just waiting for you! And like I've said so many times in my posts, the MM is still in his same situation and chances are, it isn't any better. If it was, do you think he would be leaving you a message on your answering machine?????

Yes, it is biblical dear lady! To marry is to have trouble! That is no joke. So keep your head and chin up, your shoulders squared and keep smiling! Enjoy your life now!! Your post to SB just filled up my heart today! Thank you!

Hugs,

GT

SB, I have to tell you the one thing that came to mind when I read your post. Of course, you know my situation and all I can say is it reminded me that because the MM's father made the choice he did to DIVORCE his W and move them across the country, it changed the path of mine and the MM's lives forever. So do I believe people should think long and hard BEFORE they get a divorce? You bet I do. I also thought about the MM and his choice to stay married until his kids are grown. I know that is a common excuse given by a lot of MP who are in an A but I also know the truth in it. So I also thought about how wonderful it is to go on with my own life and live it to the fullest each day knowing that the MM and I didn't make the same mistake his father did which had such a profound effect on our lives. And if the day ever arrives when he is free to pursue a relationship with me, we can look back knowing we did the right thing. It is a win/win situation, not a wait/wait situation. I'll never wait on the MM, just like I didn't when he left in HS. All any of us can do is learn to really live life without them and know that God has our best interest in mind for the future!

Hugs to you SB. I'm sure you had fun delving into the past...
