boss is messin' (not with me)

My boss' wife and youngest child are out of the country and I just saw that he has an email confirmation for a reservation for two for tonight for a very romantic restaurant.

He'll be back from lunch in about an hour. What do I do? He's a friend. His wife is a friend. I've known him for 6 years and, although he's my boss, I rule the roost. We do not have the typical boss/employee relationship at all.

Help!
Thanks,
Dee

I'm on the bandwagon with WithClarity. If he has his mind set on something happening, and maybe he doesn't, maybe he just wants to have an enjoyable night out, then interrupting that could spell disaster for you. I have a friend who lost his job after he witnessed the boss being very inappropriate with his assistant, IYKWIM. First the boss called him in and told him if he relayed to anyone what he bore witness to he would find himself out of a job. Highly illegal I know, even more so when you consider it came from a lawyer. He stayed around for a few months more until they found another excuse to fire him.

Hi, everyone-
Thank you all for the advice to myob. I didn't intend to ever confront my boss or discuss As with him; I didn't do anything other than what I posted before - just asked him who he's going with - which is something I'd done in any other situation. I only wanted him to get a little twinge that he's not invisible and prayed for an epiphany on his part. It's in God's hands now. Or the Devils.... we'll see.

Best,
Dee
