Whether you think you can or you think you can't you are probably right. A parrot can repeat what it has learned but the mark of true intelligence is applying what is learned.
IMJP- Boy, this is major step for you! and you're only on Day 6? Congratulations (?) I know I felt exactly as you did, Crappy, at day 6 --- um, until day like 50 -ha! But, I also realized that X and I used each other and he was no more to blame than I. That really helped in the long run, though, because not only was I able to forgive him, I was able to let 'it' go. The closure part and the confusion part that had to do with answers I thought I needed from HIM, because I then knew that I was the one who had the answers and that his answers didn't matter. The matter rests with you. It very empowering to forgive and I hope you'll be doing that for yourself soon.
You are doing so incredibly well - day 6 wow! I remember the moments i got those insights into myself - and it made me feel excited. When I realized the issues were with me, then I could have control back of my life. I can work on me and only me ... so when the issues rest with me, then I know it can get better. I never held my xAP responsible for more that what was his to own - and I own what is mine. We demand of our AP's to become cheaters and deceivers or else we can't spend time with them the way we do/did. We can't really then turn around and be angry for the very things we demanded of them.
So, all this to say, it is a huge revelation to make and one like the others have said, will help clear the road to a better life.
Hey IMJP
I swear the realization that we have no one to blame but ourselves is the worse part.
