Have you noticed your life is improving or getting back to normal since you ended your A? How long has it been since you or they ended things?

It's been two weeks since I ended things. I have noticed I'm waking rested again, where I was waking exhaused the last month of the A. My mood is also leveled off as well. No more highs when I heard from him, and crushing lows when I didn't. It was difficult to put on a poker face around my family.

I'm just grateful to have my dull, simple life back.

You are one of the lucky ones. This usually takes months. BUT yes, once you have removed yourself from the painful jaws of the affair grip, real life begins to circulate through your system again. It will take time, but eventually your body cleanses itself of those affair toxins, and the mind follows along with those newly feel good feelings..

Be proud of yourself for slaying the affair "drag-on". Otherwise it drags on, and on, and on :)

Definitely true for me. My "old self" (the one that had some values and sanity!) starting coming back during the A and that was the reason I ultimately ended it. I'm curious about your choice of words, though. What differentiated your "old self" from the "A self?" What about you as a person had to change to become involved in the A?
