Girlfriends -- the best remedy

So, I was having a bad day yesterday. My best girl friends came to the rescue! They didn't even know it, either. Out of the blue, my best friend asked me to dinner last night and we spent some good quality time together for the first time in a long time. She knows nothing about the A -- and sometimes I feel almost as guilty for betraying her as I do for betraying my H -- so I couldn't talk to her about what was bothering me, but it didn't matter, we had a great time and my attitude has improved 100%.

Then my best friends from college all got together on-line and planned our fall "girls' weekend" down south -- booked our flights today and we are all set. Fun to have that to look forward to.

I feel like a new person compared to yesterday. The lesson: sometimes we just need to reach out to our friends, the people who had NOTHING to do with the A, to regain some of our sanity! :)

Katie,

Good for you!!!! My best friend has been a godsend for me too. Although she didn't know about my A, I came clean after it ended. I thought she would be soooo disaapointed in me(and mad at me for me keeping a secret) but I was wrong. Not only has she been my biggest supporter, she is more mad at x-MM I am !!!! LOL

Seeing how my real friends have responded to my recent drama and how we all support each other here, make me realize everyday that I'm much better off now than with the "friendship" x-MM and I had.

You have a great time on your trip....my girlfriends and I are planning a similar trip real soon :)
