Hello everyone,

In the last few days the recent posts on EAS have been an even greater help to me.

Jen, it sounds like you are getting to a very good place, where you can see everything much more clearly. Congrats to you on all the improvements--big and samll. I am four days behind you, girl. Day 28 NC!! Yesterday was a terribly sucky day for me. Iddy drove the point home for me that I need to be patient during this process. I am not a patient person, so this is one more life coping skill I have GOT to learn. We are going to make it and become such better people as a result of our mistakes and the examination of the "whys" we made them.

Hugs to you!

((Jen))

Congratulations on 32 days. This may not seem like very much in the grand scheme of things, but honey, it's a huge accomplishment. I can already see that you have removed those rose colored goggles and are now seeing things more clearly. As we talk about a lot on here, it takes time and lots of it, to get to that place where we are once again comfortable in our own skin. It's like having to shed a complete outer layer of ourselves, and painfully deal with the rawness until a new layer is formed.

The good news is that your new layer will come with a glow of honorablity and you will want to protect it at all costs. Inside you may still be struggling with uncomfortable emotions, but they will work themselves out with more time and distance. It's perfectly normal to still experience the shakes and unsurety under stressful conditions because you have to learn a whole new way of coping with them. This is what is so valuable about this board. With so many enders in different stages of recovery, someone will write the words your head/heart needs to hear. This is why coming here daily is like going to AA meetings (if you will), for strengthening our resolve for staying off of the A bottle.

Just remember that we can only do so much, and that counseling is another option for getting to the root of our problems and issues. Do you have a T?

I hope you have a strong day and remember that it is always darkest before the dawn.

Hi alwayst2,

Thank you and congrats to you as well! One of my issues is the need to feel in control and control the outcome of a situation. I too need to learn patience and to understand I do not have the power to control every situation into a way that makes me feel comfortable and without consideration to others and how they may feel. Yes we will make it and become much better people in our new awarness:)

Hugs back:)

Hi iddy,

Thank you for the congratulations:) I am not in counselling, it is time to go back and I think I will receive much more value this time. The other times I have gone I was never ready to deal with me it was always about everyone else and how they affected me. Just writing that out had me cringe! I do need to get to the root of what my issues are and the why's of why I do things the way I have. Thank you iddy, reading what you wrote about shedding a layer of skin for a more honourable one was a reminder that this journey brings so many new awarnesses and positive outcomes.

Have a nice day and hugs:)

Congrats on 32 days Jen. It’s a process and you are doing well.

Hi Bodhi,

I really like this quote, I have one for zensday that my niece gave me. It's from Lao Tzu as well and it fits for all of our journeys:)

Have a nice evening:)
