Hi OAJ,
<>
I’ve seen many posts in the past where someone is hailed a great person in the community but the person who got really close to him/her (their xAP) sees them in a different light. They saw him/her lie and cheat on W/H. They saw them manipulate and so on. So of course they see this person much differently than others do.
I can understand you giving this some thought and maybe questioning yourself but here’s the thing. In the end, it does not matter if xAP is a good or bad person. What matters is the A was toxic for you and you are making changes in your life so you don’t go down that path again.
Bring the focus back to yourself and ask yourself why you picked this person to have an A with. These questions will lead you down a path of self discovery and guard you from going down that path again. Asking those types of questions will be far more productive and helpful to you then wondering why he did what he did.
Much love and big hugs,
E1
Whether you think you can or you think you can’t you are probably right.
A parrot can repeat what it has learned but the mark of true intelligence is applying what is learned.

Nothing is wrong with you. Affairs bring out the dark, ugly behavior in people. You were a secret, so he can act anyway he likes, anyway that suits him without worrying how it might look.
I understand where you are coming from. My xAP is a very public person (News Anchor), loved my many and regarded as a honest, fair and upfront man. Ha ha! I know better. After about 1 year, I started seeing him for what he REALLY was and it wasn't who I thought he was. xAP treated me like I was one of the mountains he climbs - conquer and move on.
I didn't have to work with him though. Keep your head up, smile and grit your teeth. Affairs in the end are not pretty.
