Reason goes out the window when our emotions take over.

Good for you, that you stuck to your guns. I know it must have been tough. You are determined and will succeed, at your new quest.

Resetting your clock is a pain in the a$$, but a year from now you won't let it bother you one bit.

He was trying to guilt you back into a relationship. If he had succeeded, it would mean a whole life of living that way.

I am proud of you.

It's only a blip.

We only miss what could have been. I know I don't miss what it really was.

We learn from everything we go through during this process. It's up to us to pay attention to the lessons from others. RBM was caught off guard a few weeks ago by a phone call. Luvin was caught off guard a few months ago by a letter. I have learned by reading these posts that I have to make sure that I'm ready for anything. My XAP works right down the street from me. He could walk over here at any moment, but it's up to me to be prepared for that. It gets easier, because the more time out you have, the more strength you gain.

Exactly - I bet if you could rewind the clock you would do things differently. Now you, and everyone reading this is a little bit smarter and more aware. Keep moving forward :)

Garfy,

I know sh*t happens, but my heart sunk when you wrote that you got into his car. My mind was screaming, "No, No, don't get in." Okay, so..... WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING?? Or were you? You have no idea what this man is capable of. He could have very well snapped since you talked to him last. Getting into that car was putting your life at risk...and I know I sound dramatic, but I also read the papers and watch the news. It wouldn't have been the 1st time some gal got into an ex-lover's car and that was the end of her. .....You cannot assume anything....ANYTHING!!

Okay, so you got lucky. He just wanted to whine and cry about "Poor little me and look how you have ruined my dreams." Don't think for a

Iddy, you are right, I never thought of him "snapping".... He did look and sound very desperate, he went to the extreme of threatening me with a phone call to H or a jump off a roof... He is not thinking straight.

Keep deleting :)

Iddy is right, I never thought of the possibility of him "snapping". Desperate people do desperate things, so keep your distance and both eyes open.
