He texted me

You all knew he would.

This was the text: "Feel the need to see you. I miss you. I'm drunk. I tried to leave you alone."

From what I've read on the healing library, this is what he said, "I want to have sex. I miss having sex with you. The only reason I'm doing this is because I'm drunk. I don't think I did anything wrong the last time we were together."

9 days NC. I am not breaking it for a dumb drunk text from a cruel JAM.

Finch,

Glad you interpreted the text the way you did, but wondering why he's able to get through to you.

I'll have to find out how to block numbers. I'm not sure how to do it either. Thanks, Dee!

Good to know that, until you figure out how to block all avenues of communication, you will not be responding.

You can subscribe to a blocking service with your cell phone service provider for as little as $5 a month. You can manage it online and feed all numbers you want blocked - no calls or texts will come through. The caller/texter will simply get an automated 'not available' message before being disconnected. AT&T has it as well as Verizon.

Thanks, All. You are right, Clarity-reading the text focused me back on him. I feel as though I just lost days.

Yup, lost days...happens all the time when we don't adhere to NC. NC = no new hurt...at our own hands.

Onefinch, well done for reframing his text, and for not replying. Let us know when you've figured out how to block his number (and his emails and phonecalls)? This is all about keeping you safe from new hurts and giving the old ones a chance to heal.

Thanks for being so kind-even in response to my ignorance. I can block emails easily, not that he ever emailed, but I have blocked those. I am with tmobile and apparently they don't have a block method. I just plan on erasing w/out reading any other texts. Well, NC day 1 starts today.

Onefinch, if you didn't reply to his text and are doing all you can to prevent them coming through you don't need to start recounting from Day 1. He broke NC not you.

I don't know anything about t-mobile - maybe others will know how you can be block texts. In the meantime, you rename him on your phone as "Delete" or "Do not answer" or something similar so that at least his name doesn't come up.
