How to Deal w/Triggers, or "Do I Have to Throw Those Jeans Away?"

There have been many threads about how to deal with triggers and I see that some of the newbies are struggling with this right now. I thought it might be a good idea to share some of our triggers and how we deal with them. It might be interesting, therapeutic and fun to list some of the odd triggers and how we can avoid/deal with them.

Most certainly songs on the radio are triggers. It's hard to get around those in public places, but I recently ended up switching music genres on my radio

Hahahahahahaha Dee!!! exAP and I spent a lot of time in my car too...thankfully I've never looked over at the passenger seat as a trigger.

I forgot to mention my biggest trigger. New York City. ExAP and I spent 4 glorious days there...it was amazing, wonderful, safe, fun, thrilling...one of the best weekends of my life in one of the most exciting cities in the world! Everytime I see scenes of NYC in movies etc. I think of him...which sucks because that's all the time! I think that I think about NYC so much because it was the last time I felt safe and happy was when I went to NYC. I was oblivious to the world, in love with exAP (or so I thought) and my dad was still alive...times were good.

Vanessa, you know smell is the sense closest tied to memory. I was waiting for someone to mention a type of smell. Throw that poisonous perfume out IMMEDIATELY. Our As really smelled like crap, not some flowery pleasant fragrance. Hang in there sweetie.
