Feeling a little indulgent on a drizzly Friday. Let's spill it--let's go ahead and post here to get out all those immature and selfish wishes we're trying to overcome, all those totally wrong and badly behaved fantasies. It will be fun and it will keep us out of trouble--we'll spill it here and then we can leave it here.
Mine: I like to think about someone telling exMM's wife. (Any of you want to call her for me? =D) Or I imagine him arriving in the afterlife only to be told that letting me go was his life's biggest mistake. Or I imagine some amazingly gorgeous guy (preferably a foreign prince or something) shows up as one of exMM's rich clients, and exMM feels totally inadequate in comparison and really jealous of this guy, and then the guy falls for me and we run off to his castle to spend our riches and exMM regrets that he wasn't good to me when he had me.
Stuff like that.
And btw, everyone, I just have to share. I attended the PRINCE concert last night here in DC. And oh, my God. I just want to CRY--that's how good it was. We had the worst possible seats--very back row of the nose-bleed section, in the corner; we couldn't possibly be further away from center-stage. But it was still amazing. He played little bits of songs with lots of instrumentals and re-mix style stuff; I'd call it "medley style" but that has a negative connotation I don't intend here. Nothing sounded just like the recordings. The band was unbelievable, and so was he. Superhuman drummer, remarkable sax players, guy on trombone that made me want to cry he was so good, and The Doctor on keyboards. Every attendee got a copy of his Musicology CD (it was factored into the ticket price). Lots of soul and blues and R&B going on. He did some acoustic stuff in the middle which was soulful and sweet and funny and heartwrenching. He played lead guitar and bass guitar. Brought some audience members up on stage to dance with him. Looked sexy and ageless; had limitless energy. Didn't mail it in on anything, not even the songs I'd expect him to be sick of doing. He was funny and really seemed to be glad to be there, glad to be in DC, having a good time. Played a song about how "Warner Brothers used to be my friends," which was great. A lot of stuff I hadn't heard before, but it was all terrific. Had some James Brown style going on for a while. Played the old stuff for us and remixed some Beyonce for the kids. Ended with Purple Rain. And then, I kid you not, we went outside and it was raining lightly, and the sky was purple. Don't know how he pulled that one off. He's a genius! Left the concert feeling like I'd just had sex with him a dozen times. And he was better than exMM.
Here's the indulgence I DID give into today: I emailed exMM to tell him all about the concert. And I DID mention that last part to him. =D It's bad and selfish and small-minded and petty and immature. But sometimes, I just figure if I'm going to be a woman scorned, I might as well indulge in a little fury.
Indulge!!

:)
Just wanted to tell you that I also saw Prince almost 2 weeks ago now...it was absolutely AWESOME!!!!!
The only fantasy I still hold onto is that someday the XMM will contact me just to let me know that he has never been able to forget me. I think that's really the only thing I still want out of that relationship -- to be remembered in a good way.
