Welcome to EAS and since you have already been reading here, you probably know already what to expect in the weeks/months ahead. It's a tough journey but will be worth it in the long run. I hope you are also familiar with the Healing Library and reading there every day will help to build your resolve for keeping it over.
It's slow here on the weekends so take this time to read everything you can...go back as far as you can and read, read, read.
<< I'm frightened for what is ahead, and the loneliness and sorrow, and for throwing away my heart and dignity.>>
You will regain your dignity but it will take time for the heart to heal. Fearing the future will only keep you stuck, so try to live in the moment and take it one hour at a time, one day at a time.
We've all been where you are and have lived to tell our tales.
Prepare yourself for one helluva ride, but once you're done, you will feel exhilarated and stronger at the end. We are all here for you and know EXACTLY what you are facing....and Lord knows, none of us are in a position to judge!
skatt, i too, have been married almost thirty years and am in the "ought to know better by now" category. perhaps we could be EAS support buddies for one another in these difficult first days. you have said you don't want to continue to burden your friend with your affair problem, and i don't have anyone to burden. maybe we could help each other? sincerely, lillie

This board provided me with the non-judgemental
Coincidental that you should ask because I was just thinking about it all while walking the dog.
