Jim Croce and NC

I was just driving to get my morning java fix and the Jim Croce song "Operator" came on - it's too funny - good 'ole Jim figures out there's "no one there he really wanted to talk to" by the end of the song. Here are some of the lyrics:

Operator, oh could you help me place this call
You see the number on the matchbook is old and faded
She’s livin’ in LA
With my best old ex-friend Ray
A guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated

Isn’t that the way they say it goes
But let’s forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell her I’m fine and to show
I’ve overcome the blow
I’ve learned to take it well
I only wish my words could just convince myself
But that’s not the way it feels

Operator, oh could you help me place this call
’cause I can’t read the number that you just gave me
There’s something in my eye’s
You know it happens every time
I think about the love that i thought would save me

Operator oh let’s forget about this call
There’s no one there I really wanted to talk you
Thank you for your time
Oh you’ve been so much more than kind
And you can keep the dime

------

I wanted XAP's love to "save" me. Now I think, save me from what? Hope everyone has a strong day. Think of EAS as your operator - come here before you place that call. :)

That song was always one of my all time favorites (showing my age). ;-) I love the way you think of EAS as being the Operator, and I agree with you that every one

Hey Bodhi!

Great analogy! And glad someone else remembers Jim Croce, guess I'm not the oldest person here. I love his music and his untimely death was too sad.

I too wanted xMM to save me, make me happy and make things in my life better and guess what? No one can do that but ME. It's taken me decades to realize this. I mean I knew that, but it wasn't until the life altering event of the A that I really UNDERSTOOD that.

Thanks for the thought process today and yes, EAS is our operator. Come here before you place that call, come here and gain support before you might jeopardize all that you have accomplished in ending your affair.
