I only have a short time right now and I've been frantically scanning the new messages - Please don't think we aren't answering - weekends are pretty quiet around here.

Yay, thanks for this Lolly. I totally agree with you that acts of love and service for others are one of the very best ways to lift ourselves out of the self-pitying misery that can follow the ending of an A (also helps to restore our belief in our goodness as people after a series of very bad decisions) Hope you have a wonderful time on your picnic.

Heart,
i'm so glad your service went well - I'm always amazed at how much doing service refills me. We made and delivered cookies to some friends, and then made dinner for a friend who just had her wisdom teeth taken out (she has two kids 18 months and 4) and dropped it off. Not only is it a great distraction - my girls taught me the cupid shuffle while we were baking! LOL lots of dancing and giggles shared! :)

katniss!!!
I read through Catching Fire again this weekend and thought about you! LOL You are so right about service raising us from self-pity! Our picnic was SO fun - thanks!! It's funny really, when we stop having our own pity parties and realize all that is good in our lives. This weekend in a very fun, dancing filled moment, I had this maybe 5 second span that seemed to move in slow motion - my brain perhaps recording it? My kids were dancing in the kitchen with me, laughing and I realized how lucky I am. We are healthy. We are loved. There is hope.

My life has only grown stronger. :)
