Learning about loneliness from a lioness

Hello ladies n' gents,
About a month and a half ago I saw an interesting documentary on BBC Canada (titled: The Last Lioness) about a lioness who effectively lives in isolation because of poaching - it's wiped out all other lions in the area except for her.
She becomes the study of this documentary (er...obviously) and I don't want to spoil too much of it, but I learned quite a bit about the power of loneliness and what it can do to one...whether human or lion, it seems. It's true that she's lonely because there is literally no other of her kind there, and for humans - we can be lonely even with a million other people around us. Regardless, it does go to show that it is a powerful emotion/experience with potentially huge ramifications and because of that we need to pay attention to and deal with it - no matter the reason we feel it.
I'll post a link here to youtube (appears you can watch some or all of it there). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2EpASuMCKk
If this isn't allowed, Iddy feel free to take down the link/erase the post.

I thought you were going to make reference to Iddy looking after her cubs just then !!
It goes to show that when two lonely 'creatures' find each other, they crave companionship and company,

Ha! Maybe I should have made such a reference?
If folks don't have the time to watch the whole thing (totally understandable!) from the youtube link you can get to vid 3 of 5, that's the section I'm making the most reference to.
But, I think you've got the right of it NC - perhaps we didn't know just how lonely we were. Or why, for that matter since most of us are surrounded by good people, friends, family, etc (let alone our own species) and yet still feel 'alone' for some reason. Does this justify an A on either side? No, not at all - but it does show just how powerful it can be and that one need not be 'alone' (re: isolated) to be lonely.
