I have been completely amused by how music can be great company when you're feeling so alone during fresh break-up/NC. Was cracking up yesterday remembering how, when you're first in love it seems like every song on the radio was about falling in love. Now I feel like every song I hear is about staying strong, independent, and not breaking NC (with permitable doses of self-pity songs thrown in here and there.) Are you all with me on this?
So here's my question: If you were going to compile music for a CD/tape to blare in the evengings while going through the drama/trauma of "ending an A" what songs would you include?
I'd add the following but would love to hear what you all would include!
Stay Gone, Jimmy Wayne
Fallen, Sarah Mclaughlan
No More Drama, Mary J. Blige
I Never Loved a Man, Aretha Franklin

Yours:
Stay Gone, Jimmy Wayne
Fallen, Sarah Mclaughlan
No More Drama, Mary J. Blige
I Never Loved a Man, Aretha Franklin
Mine:
I don't care anymore/Genesis
I will survive/gloria Gaynor
You give love a bad name/Bon Jovi
Stronger/Britney Spears
Great song when your feeling low.
Take Care
Lady Bug
I will Survive--Cake
Get Over Yourself---SheDaisy
Dumb Girls--Lucy Woodward
Lots of Avril Lavigne and Alanis Morrisette
Forever Blue by Chris Issak (but really anything by him)
What am I to you by Norah Jones
I'm Jealous by Shania Twain
I have loved you by Jessica Simpson (I listen to her entire In this Skin CD)
Just a few of my selections
I hate myself for loving you/Joan Jett
White Flag/Dido
Ohh...great post!
I agree with the girls who mentioned Alanis...
ESPECIALLY "Hands Clean" by Alanis-that one is seriously caustic
This one's a little more heartbreaking, but cathartic...
"Stay or Leave" by Dave Matthews
For those of you who don't know the words, it's basically about always loving someone even if the relationship is over. Could have strangled him!
I would also add, "I Don't Care Anymore" by Phil Collins.
And from my 8-year-old's collection, "So Yesterday" by Hillary Duff.

LINKIN PARK - BREAKING THE HABIT
(some excerpts)
I don't want to be the one
The battle's always choosed
Cause inside I realize that I'm the one confused
I'll paint it on the walls
Cause I'm the one at fault
I'll never fight again
And this is how it ends
But now I have some clarity
To show you what I mean
I don't know how I got this way …
So i'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit tonight
