I know I know - this is normally my good pal Foggy's domain - and I was hoping to log in and see a post from him - because today I finally found something worthy of being added to every single one of our playlists.

Lolly,

I don't know if you watched the Golden Globes Sunday, but this song gleaned a Golden Globe for the songwriter, Diane Warren, for best original motion picture song. Warren dedicated her globe to Publicist Ronni Chasen, whose brazen killing stunned the entertainment industry last year. Ronni would talk endlessly about how this song merits recognition way back before her untimely death.

Excellent choice, my friend. It's a beautiful song.

Dear Lolly,

Thank you for posting this thread - I know Foggy would be so touched that you've done so in his absence.

What a beautiful song. Full of power & strength. I love it when we find those words that just compel us to move that much further forward - the resolve.

My choice for this week comes from my struggles lately with just embracing the totality that life has to offer - the challenges as well as the rewards. Remaining grateful for all emotions ... especially the hard ones that remind me of the hurts that still exist and mark my travels through LIFE.

Well, I've never prayed,
But tonight I'm on my knees, yeah
I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind , I feel free now

My Dearest Lolly,
I do not know how to thank you for posting this...thanks for covering for my slack arse!

As you know I have had a pretty tough week, and to see this posted brought a huge smile to my face. Also, to see that you are officially a Tweener not only made me smile, but brought a tear to my eye. I am going to pull an E1 and totally cross post here to say CONGRATS!!! I am so very proud of you. I know it was not an easy road for you to get this far...but you persevered... threw 2 flat tires and a blown engine! Nothing was gonna stop you this time and you showed such heart and dedication not only for pushing forward in your own healing but also in always contributing to the healing of others. Way to go my friend!

I also have to commend you on your choice of song for this week! It was PERFECT!! I have wanted to see that movie, and have been waiting for it to come to the cheep theater near my house...NOW I am even more excited. Also, it must have been a damn good choice to get our dear Yellow-Capped leader to chime in on a musical thread! :)

As for me....I have to step in and use a classic Beatles tune as my contribution for this week! It has been a really tough week full of very tough emotions and physical peaks and valleys. And there is one thing that is for sure....I would never have made it without a little help with my friends. :)
That for sure includes all three of you Amazing Ladies who have made this tread thus far. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Of course...I even though the song comes from the Fab Four...the performance I prefer comes from the antics of Joe Cocker. One can never say that he does not "FEEL" every word of music he sings. :)

What would you think if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm,I get high with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends.

Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love.

What do I do when my love is away.
(Does it worry you to be alone)
How do I feel by the end of the day
(Are you sad because you're on your own)
No, I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, get high with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, gonna to try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love.

Would you believe in a love at first sight?
Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time.
What do you see when you turn out the light?
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends,
Oh, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I just need someone to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Ooh, I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends,
with a little help from my friends

So thanks again Lolly! I also am always moved forward by music....it in its truest form...IS MY SOUL!!!

I also want to thank Iddy and TU for chiming in...and thanks to all that participated last week. It was just after as I posted last week that my week took a dive....but I want you all to know that each time a song gets posted it moves me! I love love LOVE sharing music with you all!

I hope you all have a happy and healthy week....and if you are struggling remember you are never alone....we can all get by with a little help from our friends.

Thanks for waking me up Lolly!

(((Foggy))

I just now snapped my fingers to create "the beat" and sang this song all the way through, thinking of you with every breath. (Haven't sung a song through it's entirety in years, so how about that?) I love this song and Joe Cocker's version is da'best! (Never was a big Beatles fan)....don't stone me folks. Sad truth, my 1st H looked just like Ringo and his nickname in college was Beatle. Need I say anymore??

(((IDDY)))

Thank you so much my dear friend. So it was the drums then?...no wait the bass... or were you just making a really bad pun about the Beatles? DAMN IT woman you are too cryptic! LOL. :)

You do not know how much it warms my heart to imagine you singing that song for me. I know there is still music in your spirit....I must be rubbing off! ;)

It is da'best...and I love walking into some unknown karaoke bar in some strange town...throwing on my long sleeve tie-dye....and doing my best Cocker impersonation of this song! SO MUCH FUN!!

So I will just (((HUG))) you back and leave all Ringo related comments out of this response....FOR NOW! HA!

I am doing better now, thanks for asking. The past week has been a rough one no doubt....but Im still singing and dancing my way through life!

Much love El Capitan!
