Good post Victory!

Now I worry that newbies

Whether you think you can or you think you can't you are probably right. A parrot can repeat what it has learned but the mark of true intelligence is applying what is learned.

Victory,

Just curious....are you a therapist/psychologist of any kind?

Very true Victory! You always have encouraging words to say!

Something I thought of... general question purposed on this board...is why do we treat our xAP as an addiction? Is it not like any other relationship where we must learn to let go? Leaving any relationship is difficult, no matter if its an AP/boyfriend/husband. No contact is purposed because it helps heal and forget. But when you break up in any relationship, both parties move on separately, so no contact is a no brainer, right?

Just food for thought. Today is 2 weeks of NC for me and the longest I have gone no contact with xAP in the 2 years we've been together! Some days are easy others are difficult. I'm just all over numb.

NC since Dec. 9th 2009

Congrats on this progress .. it is a long time..2 weeks.

I also asked this question - why is the A related to an addiction. It's in my post 27302.8.

I think i've began to understand it. Like an addiction, the A is something we look towards to feel good. The good feelings it brought us. And, also like an addiction, it is bad for us. I also don't quite get it but it is something along those lines..

An affair isn't like an addiction; it is an addiction.
