Lil~

I am only one person and have already responded to your initial thread. Many of our Vets seem to have moved on or are involved in their RL now, so it would serve you best to participate in as many threads as you can even though you are a newbie. It sounds like you have a handle on why your A needed to end but what concerns me is that you also need to look into the reasons why you went down this road in the first place. There's a thread started by BBear that has some incredible insights in it from gals that are recently out of their affairs, so I would suggest you read it through. Some of things they wrote were real eye-openers.

I don't think I have to keep repeating that NC=No New Hurts. That is a given on this board and has proven to be the only way we can put an A behind us and start moving forward with our lives. You have 7 days NC, yes? Well, 8 now, and that is something to be proud of. Just keep it going, honey. One day at a time is all we can ask of ourselves.

((Hugs))

Iddy,
You're amazing and thank you for all you do for us!

To everyone who feels needy (um, that would be ALL of us!) : The vets and the leaders are wonderful and it feels really good to hear from them in a personal response to our posts, truly. But, and this is not meant to sting, yo! they have said it all before. Yep. New newbie, same advice. Go back a year, or two, in the posts and read from a new newbie... the poor vets must be getting a little tired of repeating themselves. Ha. I'd be nuts by now; I don't know how they stay so lovingly patient! Heros, that's what they are. Anyway, my point is.... you can get so much from the older posts if you realize that as much as you think your situation is unique and special (as YOU are, no doubt), your story is a retelling of a tale of all A-kind, age old and lived through by countless women (and men) before you. And, furthermore, the newbies of today - and the tweeners - are soooo eager and willing to share; don't underestimate the power of their input.

Also, this board is amazing BUT it's not the end all and be all --- get additional help from a trusted friend and IC if at all possible. There are many resources available and we owe it to ourselves to seek them out and take advantage of them all.

love,
Dee
