newbie...6 days of NC, go me!!!

After reading this board for about 5 months now, I've finally ended my PA 6 days ago. THANK YOU!!! 11 months ago, I had a one night fling with a complete stranger - a much older MM (2nd marriage) with kids. This was completely out of character for me but I needed that thrill at the time. We began communicating through email right after but only talked about the next time we could see each other. Each time we saw each other, the emails and texts afterwards became more frequent and the addiction became MUCH stronger. I was living in a fog and began to not really like myself for allowing him to consume my thoughts.

So 6 days ago, I sent a very short email saying it was over and not to email anymore. He didn't. The first few days were really tough and the no response really hurt, even tho it was what I asked for. (Throughout the 11 months, he's always played this game well, which I'm sure comes from having lots of experience in having flings. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one).

But now the tears have stopped, I feel stronger each day I write NC on my calendar, and I feel happier with my H. I think I did this because I needed some excitement in my pretty perfect, drama-free life. Since I've ended it, I've looked into sky-diving and have found big mountains to ski this winter. I need something to fill that void.

I still think about him a ton and I look forward to having days where I don't think about it at all. I've come close to emailing him several times but always save them as drafts and will eventually erase them (I hope). Thanks to everyone on this board for posting their stories! It has changed my life!! Ahh, that felt good to let that all out. Thanks for reading.
