No New Posts for a few days? :-(

I don't post here much but I read posts daily, it helps to read here.
is it true there won't be any new posts from October 1st till October 5th? (I saw a message about it somewhere down below) :-(

Looks like that's true. The board will be read-only during the conversion from Oct.1 to Oct. 5. It's a bummer and a challenge, I'm sure, to many of us. Let's make sure we have our cyber-buddy's emails ready to go in case there is a crisis!

Here is the info from the link Iddy posted re: the changes to the board:
Will there be any downtime on the boards during this change?
We’re making every effort to minimize any downtime on the message boards as we complete the upgrade. There will be a period of time where the current boards will become "read only". This means that you will be able to read the boards but not post to them. This is necessary so we can complete the final transition to the updated message board system. The read-only period will begin at 11pm ET Friday October 1, 2010 and last until we unveil the upgraded boards on Tuesday October 5, 2010.

Great suggestion Dee :) If you don't have a cyber buddy, make sure you email someone through their profile this week so you can establish contact - in case we aren't able to view our profiles.

I feel the need to assist in the development of NC safety plans, particularly for newbies who might really find a need to post during the downtime.
So, shall we start a list:
1) Read the Healing Library - over and over again. Go as far back as you can.
2) Find a safe place to write/type out what you would like to share here once the board is back in full capacity
3) email a fellow EASer (I am putting the invitation out to anyone who needs to reach out during the downtime)
4) Turn off those cell phone & BLOCK all avenues of contact.
okay ... what else people?
I think I will start a new thread for this.

I guess at least they are doing it at a weekend...
I cannot imagine what it would have been if it was during the week!
