Hi all,

Hope everyone's doing great.

Just a little update on how I'm getting on.

I'm continuing with NC and doing well. Had a lovely weekend with my family and I feel great.

I've made another big decision in my life (well, big to me!) I've been a smoker for five years and tomorrow... I'm going to quit!

Before my A I smoked around 10 cigarettes a day. That number leapt to 20+ during my A which I know is just disgusting (not to mention expensive).

I guess it helped the anxiety and stress of the A.

Well now that I have rid myself of one dirty habit (OM) why not throw in another! Especially since my excessive smoking was linked in a way to having an A.

Could really do with some words of encouragement!

Hi Wheresmycocktail:

Great that you are ditching bad habit #2: smoking.

I believe you can do it, no doubt but my concern is this.....have you thought of how you are going to fill in the "void"? Dumping two bad habits simultaneously (really...are you REALLY REALLY fully over the OM?) can be "back-breaking" challenging, make it harder on yourself unless you have signed up at a boot-camp training camp...

Thing is...(no offense, of course!) have you always wondered if you have an addictive inclination? If that is the case, thought of finding another "passion" while quitting smoking? Like painting? Reading? Cooking? Bottom line, what will be your fall-back cushion if you think of "sneaking" just one more puff? Overall concerned your

"drying out" period will weaken your willpower...back into the clutches of xOM...

Either way, I wish you great luck!

I know you can do it. Just have to think positively and find something else to do with the time. Walk, read, hang out with friends.

I plan on quitting also as soon as I start getting over this MM thing. I'm only a couple days into ending it so I know I can't quit right now but I plan on it. BTW, love your name ;)

Wishing you lots of strength,

Kat

Wheres

Congratulations on getting rid of BOTH dirty habits, I am sure you can do this, and hey it's going to be one hell of a distration form thinking of the Xdirty habit.

Your hubby and kids amy want to lock up all the sharp objects in the house for the next few days. LOL :o).

GOOD LUCK YOU CAN DO IT.
