I'm not a resolution maker at the beginning of each new year normally, but having braved the storms of this last year I decided to make a couple since I am finally becoming more goal oriented in my life and I'm curious how many of you are in the same boat??

My NY resolution each year is to not make any because I never stick to them. I go on a "as needed" basis for making changes like starting my no-carb diet a few weeks ago when the doc told me my blood sugar is too high. Okay, that's just me, but I admire anyone who can make a resolution and stick to it. I wish you good luck with your diet and 2 mile walking routine. Perhaps just starting out at 1 mile would be more realistic? At least your thoughts are now out into the universe and remember, thoughts lead to actions. ;-)

Good morning, Lolly!! I hope you were up early to go for that walk. LOL. I'm not one for making "resolutions" on NYE either. But I think the new year is certainly a great time to assess where we are in our lives and where we want to go, then make the plans to get there.

In regards to things of a physical nature, I'm looking forward to getting

I'm not big on NY Resolutions either. This year I thought of the word "resolve" And used the stroke of midnight to symbolize more strength in my resolve to continue to move past my A.

I'm proud of you for addressing your health issues. I'm sure a lot of people might think I'm crazy, but I love running when I have a cold! It actually helps clear my sinuses - and gives me a great natural buzz :) ha

Aw sweet iddy - are you following south beach for your no-carb or atkins or doing something on your own? I've been walking 2 miles pretty frequently (3-5 times a week) for a while now, and can even run the whole first mile (no laughing - it's not pretty right now) but I'd like to increase the frequency since I'll be confined to a desk/computer 8 hours or more a day! Eeek!! My kids took a class on goal making and they used an equation of D+A=R Dreams + Actions = Reality - I'm using it as my motto....

Sorry you are facing a nasty cold - I feel you on that! I do love yoga, but the place I used to go is now closed (boo) so now I'll have to find another place. I'm planning on doing another 5k at the end of the month if I can get rid of all this cough/cold nonsense! Any other resolutions? Enjoy your reading (What are you reading??? Anything good?)

Reading random stuff. Just finished Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Cruise. LOVED it! Now reading Secret Life of Bees...I know, I know. It's been out for a long time, I just never got around to reading it. I have a stack of about 12 books on my nightstand, just waiting for their covers to be cracked. Sometimes I get too involved with my laptop to pick up my books, though. LOL.

Awesome for you to be doing another 5k. I did my first in October. I have never been a runner, but for some reason, I decided to try it. My H is a huge runner but could never get me excited about it. I am better when I am running by myself, though. I'm pretty spastic and it's not a pretty sight, either. :smileyvery-happy:

Hello!

While I am not usually one for making resolutions, I have contemplated the changes I would like to make more this New Year than any other. There are trends I would like to keep going, & nurture even more (complete down time with the kids, & time with friends), and I am an avid runner but I have spiced things up this year so that in the Spring I will be doing something a lot more adventurous as my goal. Like Bohdi, I am going to spring-board off of 2010, and continue to strengthen my resolve.

There simple changes I am making this year are things like not falling asleep with my Laptop open, and putting better boundaries in place between academia and my REAL LIFE.

Much love as we move into 2011,

TU.
