But... you didn't sell your soul.

The difference between who you are and who you imagine yourself to be, is what you do.

Lulu, that was amazIng. It is completely up to us as enders to not let them, or anyone, take anything from us again. Boundaries become firmer, and if they don't, perhaps it will take a few more batterings before we get them strong again.
JWIA, you learned that while the A can provide the "fun" and the highs that you want more of, all of it is temporary. And after it is done, you experience intense feelings of sorrow and pain for what has happened. The good news is, those intense feelings will subside as new habits become learned and new boundaries become put into practice. You will heal. :) Time truly does this.

Thanks for your supportive words ladies. I do not yet feel that I have totally gotten my soul back, but I am working on it.

As far as the drug dealer quote~ xap & I actually used to joke about how I was addicted to him. I told him that more than once...we would laugh about it. The thing was ...I didn't realize when I was joking about it that I really WAS addicted to him. :(

Everytime I hear Dr. Phil say. "What were you thinking?", I am reminded of my Mother who sat me down in a chair when I was about 13 and said. "What were you thinking?".

We only miss what could have been. I know I don't miss what it really was.
