Some reading that has been helpful to me

I'm not a Buddhist, but over the years, I have often turned to buddhist writings to help me when I am struggling. As I go through this journey to end my A, I found this somewhat helpful,
For me, it's important to remember that an A is always an inappropriate choice. I know that I rationalized it, even for many years, but as Iddy said, they have a way of coming to a screeching halt and cause pain.
I don't want to judge anyone else's behavior and decisions. I just know that for me, being in an A never sat well. I have hated who it caused me to become. I think that is a big part of the recovery.
Peace to you all.

You know, I was thinking about this today, but in the context of the 10 commandments. Not in the "you will go to he** if you do this" way, but more like "you will feel like he** if you do this." More like a sign post or a warning in a sense.
Interesting. Thanks for posting the link. It makes sense with what I was thinking today.
kw,
I am glad that it resonated with you and I like the connection you made.
I tend to understand buddhists consider karma as occurring over the multitude of our lifetimes. In other words, what you do in this life will affect you in the next and what you are dealing with now is a reflections of what you did in a prior life.
That said though, I also read it in a very present way.
So, when I ask myself,
"Why do you feel like crap right now?",
I can honestly answer,
"Because karma is kicking you in the a** for your sexual misconduct; breaking the commitment to my partner and having a sexual relationship with someone else's partner".
I deserve the kick in the a**.

Well, I think that is why we are all on this board. We are accepting responsibility and giving ourselves a kick in the a$$ to make things right again. lol.
