What a bunch of utter garbage!! That's what I came across this afternoon while digging through some jewelry boxes. Heck, gold is way up, so I was thinking I'll sell all my old junk I never wear. Found a bunch so we will see what I get for it. Anyway, in the process of hunting down junk gold, I find the following:

Ok I have to admit I did the pen thing too - UGH

I thought I was overly sentimental- you win :)

Sentimentality is a great character trait- now we have to be sentimental over people who deserve it :)

You are what you consistently do

I never did the pen thing, but I did sketch a picture of him from a photo I found on his facebook taken MANY years ago when he was younger and (somewhat) good-looking. I love to draw and I actually showed this sketch to him once - his response was "oh, that is pretty good. You must like me." I remember feeling like "what a stupid response I got from him" but what did I expect? I was STROKING his EGO!!! Ugh. Okay, that picture was promptly shredded. Nothing left. And the letters I wrote him (I always made copies of what I wrote) were burned in the fire. And the spandex biking shirt he gave me went to Goodwill (it smelled like him, and if I smell that smell now, I would think it disgusting). The motorcycle jacket that he pressured me to buy has been sold. And the moped that he found on Craigslist for me (and I went ahead and bought it even though H thought I was crazy...rode it for a few months so I could be "cool" like xAP on his motorcycles) has been SOLD. I think that's it. But if I come across something else, in the garbage or fire it goes. Oh - I don't think I mentioned to you ladies that I actually "trusted" him to fix the cracked screen on my iPhone...he proceeded to destroy it so I had to go buy a new phone. Reimbursed for that?? I don't think so. Have a good Monday, everyone!! Hearts <3

Finding all this stuff made my skin crawl. Everything I looked at truly made me ask myself what was I thinking. All the time and effort to pull off the secret rendezvous, the risk and the utter destruction of myself. I had one teeny tiny moment of "sweetness" or something, I can't exactly describe the feeling. Some of the garbage I saved reminded me of a trip we took to a beautiful place. But other than that, it was just like every normal garbage day. And that was a good feeling.

bandk,

I had to cringe and then laugh as I read your "crap" list.

Crazy isn't it!!

I'm quite a ways out from this affair, so when I found the stash of pens, I was floored. I had forgotten about them obviously, but the one thing that really grabbed me was looking at all the names of the hotels and resorts. These were not cheap little motels. Oh no, I generously put that man in the best.

Ok...........I'll get into some of this humiliation.

I have "nada" to donate to the crap sale.

Nothing!

I wish I could get something for the memories, but they are like old shoes. Got a closet full of them, they were comfortable once, but no one else wants 'em.

I must be a joke. I paid for her airline tickets. I paid for the place. I paid for the shopping trips. I paid for the jewelry. I paid for all the meals. Hummmmm..............???? Worse yet..............I'm still paying her.

LOL!!!

It's the old school in me.

We only miss what could have been. I know I don't miss what it really was.

OMG - how funny - love the "affairaphernalia". It's all the crap we bought to make the relationship seem real.

A rummage sale would no doubt fill the coffers of a local charity. There was no way I was throwing out perfectly good clothing just because I bought it during the affair. But some of the lingerie, yeah, that's been tossed. Especially the college thong someone in his office gave him and he passed it on to me. gross. And the bras and panties I bought while he and I were vacationing together - gone. But the nice jeans and dresses,
