(((((FM))))

Welcome, and wow your post just blew me away.

Your post also resonated with me in every way, that being married with children, having devoted husbands, an age difference with our EAPs, happy families etc. Yes feelinlousy's dday post was a cold shower alright, hope she is doing OK, i'm always thinking of her.

Going NC and being part of this board is the best gift we will give to ourselves, our innocent families, our XAP's, and our XAP's families. Have you also thought about seeking therapy? I always concluded that my A was nothing more than acts of pure selfishness, but it goes beyond that. T will help answer all the questions as to why we resorted to this destructive behaviour in the first place, i have my first appointment in a couple of weeks and i'm looking forward to it.

I'm happy you are here, well not happy that you are in this predicament, but happy you officially made the decision.

Sending you love and strength

Hello FM (if you have lurked long enough you know I am a music man, and so I love the abreviation of your moniker...makes me think of the radio!).

I don't have alot to add to the advice and welcome you have already received but wanted to say I am so very sorry you are hear, and so very glad you found us.

I have been away on a journey across the US for the past two weeks, and that came on the end of a month worth of large and wholesale changes in my life. I could never have made it through any of it without the support and wisdom that comes from within the walls of this place. I was in soooooo deep that I never thought I would find a way out. And now, 6 months later, I can smell the air...again all owed to this place.

I agree with the other posters about how amazing your post was. So much of it resonated with me as well. You have a great attitude and have so much knowledge already of the steps needed to set you free. I have a feeling the hardest part for you will be just the separation from the addiction aspect of the A. I wont lie...its not easy...hardest detox I've ever gone through. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You are already a step ahead because you can already see the better woman standing in the opening...the silhouette strong and proud! Just remember to breath your way through each craving. Breath deep and focus on wellness and you will succeed!

I am out of time, but wanted to say good luck on your journey, if there is ever anything I can do to help I will. Stay strong and buckle up its gonna be a crazy ride.... BUT WELCOME ABOARD!!

Sending some calming and resourceful vibes your way this night.
peace&light
