Some i know--like maybekatie--others i can figure out: like mommyesq. But how did you come up with your sign on name?

Mine, Clarice, is my grandmother's name. Last summer, my brother used to post on this board--because he was the first person i confided in about the A. He used to post under DocSink (my grandfather's name).

I got so tired of his posts--and lecturing me about all this--that is one of the reasons why i stopped posting for a while. The coast is clear now. Doc Sink is gone!

Mine is probably pretty apparent...I Schmuck because I sure feel like one after what I've done. Thankfully I am on the road to recovery from schmuckdom.

Ah, mine might seem simple to figure out but there is a story behind it. When I first signed on with Parent Soup back in '97 my first name was Carlsma. I decided that it didn't really fit me because I am so much more than just a mother. I decided to use a family name. Some family members call me Chrissy. My middle name is Sue. Therefore, I used Chrissysue. Unfortunately, GB picked up on it and decided he'd use it as a pet name.

The day I ended the affair in my heart, I changed my name to justchris633. I didn't want to be associated with the name he called me so I became just 'Chris'. 633 was my PO Box number before we moved here to the Las Vegas Metro area. I have been justchris633 for over 2 years now! Yes, two years affair free even though they weren't all GB free.

Last year while chatting with a good friend on Yahoo IM, we had said our hellos for the day and were discussing how our evenings had gone. I shared that my male rottweiler had kept me up a great deal of the night, needing to go outside and taking his sweet time about it. It was raining out and chilly and at one point I wrapped an afghan around myself, draping it over my head and then I raced outside barefoot in search of my dog. My friend stated that the image of me doing that by moonlight reminded him of a demented dancing elf.

So that's me ... but I dropped the dancing just because it's too long.

Ugh, Clarice, I would d-i-e if someone I knew was posting here & lecturing me! Don't know how you did that.

My name, I know you know where it comes from, but some don't -- Maybe Katie is a song by Barenaked Ladies (my favorite band). :) There's a good line in the song about getting over someone: "Do you know everyone you ever swore you'd love for life? I don't know them anymore. I know their names; I'd recognize them on the street; but I don't love them." That's not why I picked my name, but it's a good reminder that eventually this guy who once seemed like the love of my life will fade into just another person I know, right?

Mornin', Clarice:

My name has evolved over the last several years. When I first started posting on the My Affair board back in 2001, I was known as "san franny" because I had initially gotten to know exMM in San Francisco (actually I think my full screen name was "leftmyheartinsanfran"--hence the shortening!!). Then, I got banned off the boards for responding, not so nicely, to trolls.....so then I became "francescas_fantasy" (a long boring story...so I won't go into it).

Then I stopped coming to the MA boards because I wasn't in an affair, then I was, but really wasn't...and frankly, it was depressing me. At the time, the ending board was VERY slow and NOT as productive as it is now.

In the summer of 2002, I started reading about Eastern religions/philosophies...and connected with Buddhist thought. Of course, one of the thoughts is that of living the dharma, which loosely means the ethical and moral aims of human life (in Hinduism).

So, I became dharmagurl...trying HARD to live the dharma.

so there you have it.
