‘Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.’ ~Lao Tzu
You have the power to choose how you experience things: with anxiety and fear, or with a sense of freedom, peace, acceptance and love.

ahhhhhh IVE LEARNED...since last week :)
“You get peace of mind not by thinking about it or imagining it, but by quieting and relaxing the restless mind.”
this is my GREATEST challenge.
Thank you for posting this I am writing this down in my journal right away. Today is my first day of not smoking and I was having a hard day with just about everything when I saw this post I had a instant sense of calm. I want to and will accept things with freedom, peace, acceptance, love and not anxiety and fear. I really needed to see this and absorb this saying today :)

Good for you! Picture those lungs of yours saying thank you!!
Bodhi
Have a nice evening:)
NewLife. You are not only learning since last week... You are GROWING! :) I actually just went back and read last weeks post last night and I wanted to say that I really loved the quote you put up there with your edit. Very insightful in the A context. As for your choice this week...excellent as well. I know that it is not easy for a gang-bustin, take charge, go gettem Aries like you to do, but doing just what your quote says will do you soooooo much good. Anyway, just wanted to say great job and I'm proud of you. :)
As for me, I will let Bodhi use the classics and I will utilize the Zen found in modern media...hence my Ferris Beuller quote from last week. This weeks comes from the great sage Yoda and I think it fits nicely with Bodhi's selection.
"Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose"
Wishing you all preaceful and Zen vibes this evening & special smoke free vibes to you Jen.

Thaks sooooo sooo much Foggy!
You are spot on! As an Aries - I am the antithesis of CALM, PEACEFUL, CENTERED (in a good way)
However! I took what was said last week to heart - instead of deflect it - and thought it would be BALANCING to explore the OPPOSITE of me.
Bikram Yoga
Hey NL! Two things.
1) wow Maui!! I am extremely jealous. :) Hawaii is the only state I've have never been able to visit...YET! And yes this should be a perfect time and place for you to work on these skills. The ocean is amazingly calming and healing too. The best shape (mentally and physically) I was evenr in came when I was living in Northern California. I would get off work and go do yoga at the beach, then free climb the boulders and cliffs to pirtch myself uptop and watch the sun fall into the ocean. And now I find myself living on the Atlantic coast but it just can not even compare to the power and beauty of the Pacific. So say hello to her for me and heed her wisdom :)
2) I am happy that you took what I said to heart...and believe me it shows! Not only in this thread, but all of them. And even though I'm a big fan of The Who (oh come on...pinball wizard), even the strongest of rock operas needs an intermision. :)
It gives me joy to see, not just for you but for me too, to see that I do have a little something to contribute round here. Believe me that was not easy for me to write, and is as close to tough love as I will ever come around here...so thanks for taking it with such an open mind. The last thing I wanted to do was squash your enthusiasm!
I think tapping into your opposite is a great idea...especially at a time when being our typical selves just got us into the worst mess of our lives (well mine anyway). Although I still wonder 'was that really me'? Lord knows I could use to embrace my opposite and tap into some of that anger and resentment toward xAP instead of the caring, compassion, and love I still feel for her. It comes in very short spurts but I certainly can't seem to go very deep with it.
And we are total opposites in regards to yoga too :) I <3 Savasana...or any real still pose for that matter. I once did tree pose for 23 minutes on a bowling ball (ok it was in the middle of a wacky 'in-tune" night) but that's a whole nother story. Lol
I will send you a message with some thoughts before you go...and Buda Bodhi helped me alot in this area so she will prob have a few ideas too. She's a wise one that gal.

I know exactly what quote you are talking about - it's my mantra for my style of graphic design (my job)! Is this it?
"You know you've achieved perfection in design, not when you have nothing more to add, but when you have nothing more to take away."
