I can't share this with anybody else, so here I am.
My love took what he called in the subject of this email "the ultimate risk", because his wife knows that we, old schoolmates, email each other, and sent me one saying he missed hearing my voice, and to email tomorrow am.
I know this is nothing, but my heart is pounding, and my day is made by these 12 words of love.
I'm besotted.

12 little words, that say A lot!!
We were at a conference together at a resort hotel, both very far away from our homes. We stayed out late with a group of colleagues. I retired; he stayed up and closed the hotel bar down. In the morning, there was an email in my company account waiting for me... Time stamp was 2AM:
"A room with a fireplace, a beautiful view... All that's missing is you."
We had never crossed the business/personal border before that. My eyes were opened, my heart was pierced. As I read those words over and over, I felt that rare and addicting flood of warmth wash through me, the involuntary grin take over my face. Gazing out the plane window on my trip home, I looked back and realized all the sweet, subtle signs he had been sending over the past few months, but I completely missed them all.
I've been toast ever since those 13 words.
