Hi girls Im from England and there have recently been several studies published in womens magazines showing that cheating is far more common amongst women and girls than it is amonst men, ive included a couple of links one australian and one english, from a personal point of view I tend to agree with the studies. Im in a long term affair myself and out of my friends who are either married or have long term relationships (late 20s early 30's) most have had flings and I'd say about half are also in long term affairs. As its pretty accepted here in England my question is how does the US / Canada compare, do more women also tend to stray or is or more equal or even men doing it more?

Those are interesting statistics.

I'd also say that if my friends are having affairs no one is talking about them. I also have never shared my stories with my real life friends. Some cyberfriends know. However, even in the cyberworld, people are very judgmental about affairs. I sometimes wonder if most of us are honest, even in an anonymous poll. Somehow I'd be afraid those poll answers would somehow get connected to me! (I'm super cautious!)

Thanks for your replies, the area in which I'm from isnt very conservative and im wondering also if our relatively young ages have a relevence to the frequency of affairs/flings.

I know of 4 real world friends who have had an affair and know many men who have. But I don't think affairs will ever be the norm or acceptable in modern society. Its more of a secret society--only when you are in it do you have any idea how many are doing it....and yes the cyber world gives us many opportunities to reach out for support and friendships and bonds are formed...
