AP's birthday is next month, and I'd really like to get him something special (though don't have a lot of money, so can't be too expensive).

Hi AE

I tried to think long and hard for my AP for Xmas and also his Birthday.... not saying they great ideas mind you....

Xmas did some daft things like a CD reflecting the music that reminded me of our first 9 months, maybe you could do some upbeat stuff

Yeah I have the same concern about a St. Christopher pendant - he wouldn't be able to wear it, unless it was something he might have bought for himself. (And if I were his W and saw something like that I think I'd know whether he was someone who might actually get that for himself). And a pendant isn't something you would want him to hide at another house.

My OM always tries to get things I might buy for myself. Women often buy themselves jewelery - not too expensive in my case, I never go out and buy expensive jewelery for myself, but silver or costume jewelery, I do, so he's safe with that. Or figurines that mean something, books, CDs I like, etc.

I've seen little signs or "clip to the visor" inexpensive things that say "Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly". I'll bet if you google those exact words, a host of sites with little trinkets with those words will pop up. If you gave him one of those, maybe he could say a work friend picked it up for him (because it's not at all expensive). He couldn't get away with that with a pendant, though.

Maybe some other people have better ideas - MM are tough - I think MW are easier - we buy more stuff for ourselves LOL!

My AP is on the road a lot too and I got him a Saint Christopher's coin last year that he keeps in his wallet so that its always with him.

The best gifts are something that would blend in with his hobbies or interests.

For my APs brithday this year, I did a "message in a bottle" thing.
