Just wonderinf whether anyone came to the point where they have had ( almost had ) to choose between A and career. I know we all do, especially when AP is a colleague.

It probably will sound contrite, but if you are meant to be, you will find a way to keep seeing each other. A's aren't permanent and only last for the very few. Only you can decide if you are prepared to throw away a good career move for your AP. I would find it a difficult decision too, but ultimately, you must take care of yourself. And in the current economic climate monetary concerns must be seriously considered.

I work as a casual. I take jobs all over the place, for different lengths of time and that means that time with AP becomes very hard to schedule, but we are determined not to let each other go and we have been able to get creative and still find time, even though the contact is less, the intensity of each meeting increases, because we know just how precious each meeting is.

Never give up your career. Never, never, for any man, AP or not. You need to have your own life and make your own money. AP will only respect you more for that.
