Chat Room Advice

Strange topic for here, I know, but not sure where else to ask this. Because of my different sleep/life schedule with H, and because MM and I travel so much, I find myself with a lot of p.m./early a.m. computer time. Thought I'd try a chatroom (first time for me). I went into a chat titled coffee house or some such thing. Geez -- it was like being cyber-raped. Four screens popped up (whispers?) blatantly sexual. When I politely declined, two of the guys wouldn't stop. I finally popped back out. There has to be a better way to reach out for conversation when you feel like you're the only one up at 3 in the morning. Where do you find chatrooms that are just for talk -- or do they not exist (other than ours). BTW, I'm on the West Coast so I find I'm generally not able to get into ours at a compatible schedule with everyone else. If anyone knows the chatroom 'rules' and 'things to avoid' please share. I guess I'm a cyber-virgin.

You are so right-on about the behavior of many individuals in chat rooms.

sorry saturday and NRY, i'm a cyberchat virgin too! heck, i had a hard time finding our chatroom!! i guess you have to check out a bunch of chats (same as kissing a ton of frogs to find a decent prince!) to find one that doesn't offend. probably because of the time of night all the crazy people are online. keep trying sweetie. you'll find one or two nice places to go in cyberspace.

Hey mine too!! He is really good in chatrooms, very polite and not at all offensive. I have seen some men who act like porn stars once they get to the chat room. LOL But not my guy - he is a gentlemen first. I haven't done the night rounds either and don't plan to anytime. I have my MM im'ing all the time so why do I need him to him separately in a chat room right??

I think I resent that crazy people remark (hee hee)... and I just want to get kissed before my skivies get ripped off... is that so much to ask? Actually, I'd really like to keep my skivies on. Seriously, though... I do wonder how people get past the junk out there. But then I found this room (thank goodness!) so I guess I'll just keep surfing. But if, one night, someone is out there looking around and they see a quivering mass of emoticons just sort of lurking around the fringes -- say hello. That's probably me trying to figure out who's saying what to whom and why.
