Didn't Need to Have "The Talk"

I heard back from MM today. I had sent him an email yesterday about lunch either this week or next as a follow up to his mentioning us getting lunch when we spoke on Tuesday. I told him we could go for lunch or a drink after work. I figured he would either play it safe with lunch or agree to the drink if he was interested in more. He emailed me today that he would have to take a rain check on lunch for tomorrow as he may be working in another building in the afternoon. He then went on about other work related stuff. I told him it was fine, we could reschedule for another time and left it at that. I'm bumming, but I guess I have my answer without having to come out and directly ask him what is going on between us, if anything. Not sure if lunch will ever happen, but I won't be bringing it up...

((((Hugs))))
I certainly don't want to give you false hope, as you may have your "answer", but you may not.

I wouldn't necessarily think that you have 'your answer'. I think email isn't the greatest form of communication and its really easy to read too much into what they say.
I think you should go with your plan and have The Talk. Take back some control and speak up. Otherwise you will torture yourself wondering.
Good luck! These affairs hurt more than they are worth sometimes it seems.
