I'm not sure I know what you mean. Is your AP a friend of your H's or of yours? If he's a friend of your H's and he comes to the house sometimes, etc., then you just keep it civil and friendly enough to not draw attention, but don't give him any extra looks or ever EVER be alone with him in a room if you can help it. Of course if you totally didn't talk to him it would look odd and draw attention. If he's a friend of yours and your H wonders why he doesn't come around anymore, just say he's super busy. Ar some point you might mention a disagreement or something, and eventually you could say you just haven't heard from him. I don't know - I've had friends that sort of faded off and my H never really paid attention.

He is mostly my friend, during the times I have backed away H asks about the lack of contact phone and otherwise between us.
