The number one "biggest" clue is that if he would have taken your R seriously, he would have left his M 5-years ago. Number 2, he has the best of both worlds, (a safe comfortable nest at home and a cake on the side) therefore, unless you decide to make any changes to this R, expect things to stay the same and the 3-months bull is just that.
