hotel excuses?!?

I've been lurking here for a few months now. My A started slowly (just flirting) and became physical almost a year ago. My MM and I are the "out-laws" in the family...his wife and my husband are related. We've always been very close friends, but something just changed a couple of years ago. Anyway...we've not had the need for a hotel room yet, but that's changing. I just was wondering what kind of excuses you give to the front desk for only needing the room for a few hours....or do you just tell them up front?!

Let's see. Oh...how about you get a life and quit passing judgement on others? For all you know, I could be in an abusive relationship that is impossible to leave. He could be in a marriage that his wife won't allow to end. Neither of these scenarios are the case, but how could you know that? There are so many variables that could be coming into play here that you have know way of knowing. You are simply assuming I am a horrible person for what I have chosen to do. I'm not making excuses for my affair. I know what I'm doing is not looked upon favorably in our society. But there are reasons beyond what I am willing to go into here. So, please, take a flying leap and leave us on this SUPPORT board alone.

Hey, whose side are you on, new day? But well said

Don't worry about the hotel people, I assure you they have seen it ALL. Just be lucky you don't have to check in with MY OMM. He thinks he's funny. At our favourite place there's this one shy clerk and he's merciless with her. He begs her to hurry up with the check-in paperwork "CAUSE IT'S AN EMERGENCY!" Or he tells her he needs a wakeup call in two hours . Or he'll say he wants a room far away from the lobby "cause I'm feeling really NOISY today, if you now what I mean!". Or if we check out at some weird time, like 11pm, he asks if the free continental breakfast is ready because he's STARVING. But he's nice to them, and they like him, so they give him a discount most of the time. My advice: pick one place you like and stick with it, let the people get to know you. It's not their business to judge and if you're nice to them they won't. :)

And if "my big fat obnoxious fiance" is looking for a guy for next season I may know someone I could fatten up...
