I'm invloved in affair and cannot seem to help myself. I'm not quite sure if this question is appropriate for this forum, but I'll shoot anyway.

My question is: what kind of excuses do you guys use to break away from your husband/wife?? What can one say to get away during the day? Evening, sometime during the weekend? Your shared experiences are sincerely appreciated.

Thank you!

Most of the time I use the 'work' excuse...going to an all day meeting in a different office, I'm meeting with some of my co-workers which work out of town. Not often, but I have told H that I'm going to a seminar and will be out of the office all day, then I call in sick and spend the day with OM..yumm..

I am in a LDEMA and have been able to use work excuses to get away about once a month to spend a few days with him. Just got back from one weekend so I am walking on air.

thx for the replies.....

the problem for us both is that neither of us work. i'm in grad school, and her H works, so she doesn't. her fam lives nearby her, and she has 3 kids, so it makes it tough. anyway...we shall see what happens. btw, could someone help me with all the abbreviations around here. outside the usual W and H. thanks. OM= other man?? Perhaps?? but the rest have me guessing, although i haven't put TOO much time into trying ;-) take care all!

My DH works til 730pm or later some nights as late as 1000 and its a 10 min drive home for him. I usually drive home, feed the dog and cats and meet OM at one of our spots once a week or more if time permits. I get off work btween 530-6pm. We have been out as late as 11pm. He has the excuse of being an "on call supvervisor" I gotta think up my own stuff like " stopped at Barnes and Noble. Lost track of time" (I don"t know if DH believes I'm capable of losing track of time. Keeping track of time is my job.) I can"t get away weekends because Dh and I tend to be joined at the hip. DH is really my best friend. I'd hate to lose him. I use the "work excuse" every so often. I leave the house an hour early and come skidding into work almost a half hour late with my hair messed up. My favorite excuse right now is that I'm out looking for some closed toed silghtly dressy shoes for work. Work for now cuz its spring. Come fall I gotta get a new excuse.

Maybe this is an excuse best used by women but every now and then I'll head to certain stores on my lunch hour and pick up a few items I've been wanting, for instance going to Home Depot or Pier 1 in search of decorations for my newly painted rooms. Of course I already have in mind what I'm wanting so I basically race in and grab stuff real quick. Then I can later say that I'm going to do some very selective shopping, browsing and whatnot. That can be a very time consuming activity - and you don't always have to purchase things when you browse right? but low and behold look at all the bags I drag home.

so ladies, how does an attractive single man (meaning not married, but who has a girlfriend) know when a married lady is interested in, ya know, something "no strings?" There is such a huge taboo that i'm more inclined to ignore any signs even if they are obvious, besides i've always had a hard time reading signs. a woman must be agressive and straight forward to get my attention that she wants something. that's my bad i guess. chat with ya later...thx for the replies.

p.s. does dh= dumb husband? divorced husband? dorky husband?
